Nominet Data Quality Policy
What is the Nominet Data Quality Policy?
All UK registrations follow a procedure requiring the registrar (GRANSY) to record details of the registration which complies with the Nominet Data Quality Policy.
Nominet decides whether a particular domain's registration details are invalid and we will only act upon notification from them.
If you have a Nominet domain name and your registration details are not correct, incomplete or cannot be verified by Nominet's address validation partner, you will receive an email asking you to you to update them.
If the registration details are not corrected, Nominet will then suspend any domains that are not validated within 30 days of being asked to do so.
Why are Nominet doing this?
Nominet are striving to improve and maintain the quality of the data they have for domain name registrants that they publish in the WHOIS database.
They believe it is an important part of ensuring that the UK namespace is a trusted and safe space.
What you need to do.
If you receive an email asking you to validate your domain's registration details then simply click on the link within the e-mail and follow the on screen instructions to update the information.
Once this information has been updated then there should be no further action required. If the details provided can still not be verified you will be contacted again via e-mail.
Registration Renewals and Cancellations
When a UK domain name reaches 30 days before the expiry date, we will issue an e-mail notification by e-mail to the last known contact, usually the registrant. If no response is received within 14 days, another e-mail will be sent.
To cancel a domain registration, please fill up form within detail of domain in Control Panel.
Registration Expiry
When a .UK domain name becomes EXPIRED, we will release the domain name and it will become available to the general public to register. Our company are not responsible for any loss or liability.
Transfer rules
To proceed with the transfer of a .UK domain name, you must ask the current registrar to push the domain to Gransy with tag GRANSY-CZ.
The transfer is free of charge because this operation doesn't include a domain name renewal.
To Migrate a domain to another provider, change TAG for the new provider: MENU Bulk orders -> Bulk set tag for .UK domain. Free of charge.
